I can,but the question is: Should I?
If you are someone who cannot get enough of mangoes, here i write y’all this recipe to enjoy this seasonal delight in one more form. This comes basically from my granny’s kitchen and I hope you like it as much as I do.
2 chopped mangoes.
4-5 tbsp Fresh Cream
4 drops of vanilla essence
1tbsp honey or brown sugar
2 tbsp finely chopped jelly pieces
Finely chopped almonds, walnuts and raisins (optional and as required)
1 tbs chocolat chips
1. Blend a few drops of water, mango pieces and fresh cream in a bowl.
2. Add honey or brown sugar and vanilla essence. Blend it all until it becomes smooth and consitent.
3. Pour this smooth mixture in a clean glass. Refrigerate it for 40 minutes.
4. Garnish the drink with nuts, chocolate chips and jelly.
5. Enjoy your Mango Mousseline!
It was going to be Grand, anyway. It wasn’t going to paint the town red. It was going to Build a Red World. It wasn’t going to hurt. It was going to Destruct.
All the Cons of the above declared subject were looked through in the writing of this article; because it’s one of those Don’t-Keep-Calm-Go-Crazy days. So, here’s to my brother’s turning 24!! It’s because of you that we are us and that way, I know how amazing it is to have an elder brother. ( Although, we are a mini WWE channel in ourselves and like to embarrass each other in front of strangers and friends, and that you gift me chocolates only to steal them later; I have no idea what would have I done without you, seriously.)
1) He is your personal connoisseur.
Be it the good old classic movies, or books, or the vintage wine, he makes sure you develop a good taste therein. Thus saving you from being that low-brow philistine!
2) Personal Counselor, Too!
So you need an advice on that guy or want to bitch about her dress or need some serious suggestion, he is always there. Doesn’t matter what time it is, you can always call him up even to crib about something totally unimportant or tell him how u bunked the class by jumping out of the window! In short, when you are all mouth, he is all ears.
3) You have got not one but both the wardrobes.
Darn! Those over-sized tees and hoods! But wow, they are all yours whenever you decide to have them! 4) He is your ultimate license.
He is the savior when you think all your plans are going to be ruined. He gets all your parties, night-out, travel plans sanctioned for you. No pleading, just cribbing!
5) His fault- He’ll apologise. Your fault- Well, THAT’s his Fault, Again!
And that’s how we get loads of chocolates and treats and a percentage from his pocket-money. Believe me; it’s still all hard-earned because making those innocent faces and making him feel guilty for your deeds is a TASK. And, he knows all of it but chooses to be generous enough and let us keep our own little devil-regime!
6) Both of you spill secrets but only you can Blackmail!
He is your secret box. From the most embarrassing to the most acclaimed episodes, you both share everything, but he being the nice elder brother only fake-threatens you about revealing them while you being a young-little-evil can actually get things done as a payment for keeping his secrets.
7) Le Sauveur! 😉
No matter how many times he calls u adopted, or threatens to disown you, he has your back every-time u are in trouble. Not just that, he also is an all-time model for your experiments. You can use that new psychology trick on him or torture him with your unbaked cake and he would tolerate them happily.
From giving u that perfect kick of confidence just before your D-day to making you immune to those gross jokes, he has done it all with love, care, sarcasm, troll and what-not! From cooking you breakfast to take you shopping (even if he hates it) he gives you the entire princess treatment. Thus, this list could have gone on endlessly. But as a pair of brother-sis siblings we kind of don’t compliment each-other much, right?! But whatsoever, you know he is precious to you and you love the fact that he is yours. Cherish it all the time!!
Whoever said shopping is therapeutic couldn’t be more correct with that thought. To me, it actually is a rejuvenating and fun exercise; especially street shopping. And when I talk shopping, I visualise Mumbai markets. Of course it is famous for branded labels and standard outfits but it is also extremely pleasant place when it comes to local street markets. There are a lot of such markets in the suburbs, near stations and posh areas too. So, if you are the one who love the idea of “shop-till-you-drop” and enjoy bargaining, here’s a list of places that should be on your Must-Visit list, next time you travel to Mumbai.
1) Colaba Causeway
Colaba represents the shopping culture of Mumbai. The look and the feel of this place, especially at evening, is suave. The yellow lighted, vivaciously sparkling place is a wonderful place to spend time at. We get a wide range of products to choose from, here in Colaba. A great deal of kolhapuris, junk jewellery, loafers, flip-flops etc can be found at a real good price. From palazzos to kurtis…u name it, u get it. And the cherry on the cake is that you get to bargain. U can bring them down half the price that they pitch in the beginning. Also, there are some sharp and curt sellers who would sell goods at a fixed but reasonable rate. (Like an up-and-down dress for 400 bucks?!)Thus, just one word- Un-missable.
2) Linking Road
It is not only popular with Mumbaikars but people all over India know Linking Road is one great place to shop from. Be it VERO MODA or Where Oh Moda, u get all kind of brands and cheap fakes, here. Majorly, this place is famous for varieties in shoes, bags, wallets, clutches, belts, shades, stoles..yes again, almost everything! But, one notice for the bargain savvy people: They hate us. They hardly entertain any bargaining. Still most of the goods are worth the price, looking at the novelty in designs offered there.
If you are a shopaholic you will like this place but if you are also a book-worm tadah, you will love Irla. So, Irla has famous alfa-markets, well furnished, stores, road-side vendors, but most importantly a very amiable and well-versed book-seller. That store is not just another book store; amongst the pile of the books in that little space is a book-keeper who possesses the knowledge about almost any book you want a review of ( with correct pronunciation 😛 ) He sells and rents the books at good deals. Coming back to other goods, best buy in Irla can range among cute colourful PJs, unique wallets, clutches, glares etc. Also, at the end of the street there is Wagh Bakri Tea Lounge, just in case you need to quench your thirst after all that vain attempts at bargaining.
The fun in Lokhandwala is all about the availability of the latest trends and novelty in designs. And, forget it when people claim that you can’t bargain at Lokhandwala. Start at the lowest price and the seller will bring it to the ideal price. One piece of advice: Do not judge the stalls/shops before you get into that place- go dig in the piles, roast the shopkeeper and you will definitely find your best buy there. Noon is the best time if you want to shop at your ease. Go around the street without wind or storm. Go calmado and Come back with heavy bags!
5) Fashion Street
This Street is one of the limited street-shopping places that cater to men. Export surplus clothing and fashion accessories are available for cheap prices. You can find a good range of denims, tees, baggy pants, jackets, hats, accessories, footwear and that too at a price which you would like to pay for not-so-long-lasting stuff. In fact, that is what works in their favour, as you get to change your wardrobe every few months for good rates.
Make sure you visit these places and once again, prove “Whoever said money can’t buy happiness did not know where to shop from”
Go grab that instant gratification. Happy shopping! 😉
I can’t derive a correct term for the last experience that found my way! It is not a big episode in any sense of the word but somehow it helped me know myself a little better! It was through one odd incident that I discovered that it is not always love, lust or crush that happens. Romance has one more form and very few might have the chance to experience and later, recognize that. I learned how age has nothing to do with it but it is always about compatibility and chemistry between two people that is vital and how quick they get into the comfort zone. Even though, by now I have no ultimate particular word for that experience or feeling that I sensed in between us that day (and the narration of that incident might not give u the perfect impression of the vibes and aura it produced); all I can say is that some stories have just one episode and it should be left there, just that way. And in that in-completion and vagueness lay its beauty and a tinge of mystery which leaves us with a fresh beautiful impact. If taken further, it may end up nowhere or in a mess.
